Proficiency levels (A1–C2)
A1 — Beginner
Greetings, introductions, numbers, basic questions, and the simple present tense. You will learn to order food, ask for directions, and handle everyday transactions.
A2 — Elementary
Past-tense basics, describing routines and experiences, and short conversations about family, hobbies, and travel. You can handle simple social situations.
B1 — Intermediate
Express opinions, discuss current events, use the subjunctive mood in common contexts, and write structured paragraphs. You can travel independently in Spanish-speaking countries.
B2 — Upper-Intermediate
Fluent conversation on abstract topics, understanding of native-speed media, and command of formal and informal registers. You are comfortable in professional settings.
C1 — Advanced
Nuanced expression, idiomatic fluency, complex grammar (advanced subjunctive, passive constructions), and academic or business writing.
C2 — Mastery
Near-native proficiency. You understand virtually everything, can summarize complex sources, and express yourself spontaneously with precision and subtlety.
