The Basic Skills Education Program (BSEP) is the US Army's own on-duty course, offered at installation Education Centers, for soldiers who need to raise their General Technical (GT) score; it ends with a retest on the AFCT, the in-service version of the ASVAB. Lingva Pro's one-on-one tutoring is independent of the Army program and can be taken before, alongside, or instead of it. It focuses on the three test components that make up the GT score — helping soldiers reach the scores they need to advance their military careers.
What Is the GT Score?
The GT score is derived from three ASVAB components: Arithmetic Reasoning (AR), Word Knowledge (WK), and Paragraph Comprehension (PC). These sections evaluate logical thinking, problem-solving, reading ability, and vocabulary.
Strengthening the GT score requires mastering the fundamental skills tested across all three domains. Each subtest has strict time limits and escalating difficulty, so success depends on both content knowledge and performance under timed conditions.
Who Should Enroll
US Army soldiers — active duty, National Guard, or Reserve — who need to raise their GT score for career advancement
Candidates preparing for MOS reclassification or promotion boards
Soldiers interested in transitioning to warrant officer or commissioned officer programs
Personalized Approach
Every student begins with a GT pretest to diagnose their current level across all three tested areas. Based on the results, we customize lesson plans to focus intensively on weak points while maintaining their strengths in other areas. Every lesson is one-on-one.
Course Structure
2 to 3 targeted lessons per week focused on AR, WK, and PC
Academic drills, guided instruction, and homework practice
Timed exercises simulating real AFCT (in-service ASVAB) conditions
One-on-one online lessons you can take from any state
Progress Monitoring
Every two weeks, students take short diagnostic assessments to evaluate gains across all three GT components. Results are reviewed with instructors to adjust learning methods, shift focus as needed, and maintain motivation throughout the program.
