Lingva Pro's Mandarin courses are designed for complete beginners through advanced learners. Our instructors use a balanced four-skill approach — speaking, listening, reading, and writing — to ensure well-rounded proficiency at every stage.
Proficiency levels (HSK 1–6)
We prepare students for the current six-level HSK and for the new HSK 3.0 — nine levels in three stages, launching worldwide on December 13, 2026. The vocabulary figures below are for the six-level HSK.
HSK 1 — Beginner
Learn Pinyin romanization, the four tones, and about 150 basic words. Handle simple greetings, self-introductions, and everyday phrases.
HSK 2 — Elementary
Expand to roughly 300 words. Discuss daily routines, family, shopping, and transportation. Understand short dialogues at slow-to-moderate speed.
HSK 3 — Intermediate
Master about 600 words. Carry on conversations about work, travel, and hobbies. Read simple articles and write short essays using common grammar patterns.
HSK 4 — Upper-Intermediate
Command roughly 1,200 words. Discuss abstract topics, understand Chinese media, and write structured paragraphs. Feel comfortable in professional settings.
HSK 5 — Advanced
Know approximately 2,500 words. Read newspapers, watch Chinese films without subtitles, give presentations, and produce formal written texts.
HSK 6 — Mastery
Build a vocabulary of over 5,000 words. Understand virtually any spoken or written Chinese, express yourself fluently and precisely, and handle sophisticated literary and academic texts.

Stroke order, radical recognition, character memorization strategies, and simplified vs. traditional forms

Dialogues, news broadcasts, podcasts, and native-speed conversation

Sentence structure (SVO), measure words, aspect particles, complements, and complex sentences
